The Children of Lir

The Children of Lir is a beloved Irish folk tale about the 4 children of King Lir: Eldest son Aodh, daughter Fionnuala, and young twin sons Fiachra & Conn. Basically, their step mother hated them because they reminded the King of their mother, who had died. So she enchanted them, turning them into swans. The enchantment lasted 900 years before they could become human again.
